Emergency Escape from the Body! Buu's Retrogression Into Evil!

Inside Buu's body, the battle against thought-form projections continues as Goku fights to protect Vegeta while he recovers. Just as Super Buu's mental avatar is about to overpower Goku, Vegeta slashes the final remaining pod: the one containing Fat Buu. This single act triggers a chain reaction that Super Buu cannot survive in his current state.

Without Fat Buu absorbed into his being, Super Buu lacks the foundational component that stabilized his existence. His internal world begins collapsing, walls convulsing and passages closing. Goku and Vegeta grab the pods containing Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, and Trunks and search desperately for an exit. They discover a tunnel leading to one of the vents where steam escapes from Buu's head and fly through it at full speed.

They emerge back to normal size with all six fighters intact. Setting the pods down, they watch as Super Buu undergoes a horrifying transformation. He first balloons into an enormous muscular form, recalling the version that existed after absorbing the South Supreme Kai millions of years ago. Then he shrinks rapidly, compressing into a small, childlike figure. This is Kid Buu, the original Majin Buu, stripped of every absorbed personality that softened or stabilized him. He is pure, unfiltered destruction.

Fat Buu was never just another absorbed victim. He was the version of Majin Buu that contained the Grand Supreme Kai's gentle nature, the personality that tempered Buu's primal destructiveness into something merely chaotic rather than apocalyptic. Removing him from Super Buu does not simply reduce his power; it removes the restraining influence that kept the original monster buried beneath layers of absorbed personalities.

The transformation sequence is deliberately unsettling. Super Buu does not simply change shape; he degenerates, cycling through previous forms before arriving at something ancient and primal. Each intermediate state flickers like a memory before dissolving into the next.

Kid Buu's childlike appearance is deeply deceptive. He is smaller, simpler, and less intimidating than any version of Buu that came before, yet Kibito Kai's reaction from afar makes the truth clear: this is the most dangerous form of Majin Buu that has ever existed. Without the Grand Supreme Kai's compassion or the South Supreme Kai's discipline influencing his behavior, Kid Buu operates on pure instinct. He does not negotiate, strategize, or show mercy.

The visual contrast between Kid Buu's small frame and the catastrophic threat he represents is one of the saga's most effective design choices.
