Evil Buu is the physical manifestation of all the rage and malice expelled from Majin Buu's body. This gaunt, gray creature emerged when the shooting of Mr. Satan and his puppy Bee pushed Buu's anger beyond his ability to contain it.
Evil Buu came into existence during the Majin Buu Saga when the violence committed by Van Zant triggered an emotional breaking point in Innocent Buu. The shooting of Mr. Satan and Bee caused Buu's fury to exceed his control, and a thick cloud of steam erupted from his body, coalescing into a separate being: a tall, thin, gray creature that embodied the pure evil within Majin Buu.
Despite his emaciated appearance, Evil Buu contains the majority of the original Majin Buu's power. He is the complete opposite of the rotund, childlike Good Buu in every way. His voice is gravelly, his demeanor is cold, and he shows no mercy or playfulness whatsoever. His first act is to vaporize Van Zant with a Guilty Flash, eliminating the man whose violence triggered his creation.
The confrontation between Good Buu and Evil Buu ends decisively when Evil Buu deflects Good Buu's Chocolate Beam back at him, turning the good half into chocolate and eating him. This absorption transforms Evil Buu into Super Buu, a far more intelligent and dangerous entity. Evil Buu's brief existence serves as the critical transition point between the relatively manageable Innocent Buu and the existential threats that follow.
Evil Buu exists for only a short time, but his role in the storyline is pivotal. He represents the pure, undiluted evil that had been present within Majin Buu since the creature's creation by the wizard Bibidi millions of years earlier. The original Buu absorbed the Grand Supreme Kai long ago, which diluted his evil nature and gave him a childlike personality. Evil Buu is what remains when that borrowed innocence is stripped away.
His consumption of Good Buu creates the chain of escalation that defines the rest of the saga. Super Buu leads to further absorptions of Gohan, Gotenks, and Piccolo, and eventually to Kid Buu when all absorptions are removed. Without Evil Buu's emergence, the entire back half of the Majin Buu Saga would unfold differently.
