A Tyrant's Decree

King Piccolo demands that King Furry broadcast his surrender to the entire world. When Furry refuses, Piccolo obliterates a massive section of Central City to prove his point. The destruction of countless innocent lives breaks the king's resolve, and he agrees to make the announcement. The world now knows it has a new ruler.

Bulma preserves the bodies of Chiaotzu and Master Roshi in freezing capsules, just as she did with Krillin. She contacts Tien with the hope that the Dragon Balls might eventually be used again, but Tien delivers the crushing news that Piccolo destroyed Shenron. The group returns to Kame House, demoralized and running out of options. Tien throws himself into training, determined to master the Evil Containment Wave through sheer willpower.

At the top of Korin Tower, Yajirobe finally arrives and immediately gorges on Senzu Beans, expanding his stomach to comical proportions. Goku asks Korin for more training, but the cat sage admits he has nothing left to teach. When Korin reveals that Master Roshi has also been killed, Goku erupts in fury and prepares to rush off. Korin stops him, warning that charging in blindly will only get him killed. Instead, Korin tells Goku about the Ultra Divine Water, a legendary elixir hidden deep within a frozen labyrinth. Every warrior who has ever drunk it died in the process, but those who could survive would unlock power beyond their limits.

Desperation on Every Front

Piccolo's destruction of part of Central City is one of the most devastating displays of power in Dragon Ball, used not for battle but for intimidation. The psychological breaking of King Furry represents the moment the world officially falls under demon rule.

Korin's admission that he has nothing more to teach Goku raises the tension considerably. The Ultra Divine Water is not a training method; it is a gamble with death itself. Goku's willingness to take that risk, knowing fourteen warriors before him all perished, reflects how deeply the losses of Krillin and Roshi have affected him.

Paths Forward

Two separate gambles define the heroes' remaining hope. Tien trains alone to master a technique that killed both Mutaito and Roshi, while Goku prepares to drink a poison that has a perfect kill rate. Neither path offers any guarantee of success, and the clock continues to tick as Piccolo consolidates his grip on the world.
