Tien confronts a man he once crippled in a fighting ring and earns forgiveness through genuine remorse. Goku chases Yajirobe across the countryside until Tambourine finally tracks them down.
Roshi, Tien, and Chiaotzu encounter a pirate crew on a treaded boat tearing through a forest. The pirate leader demands a million Zeni for the Seven-Star Dragon Ball. Roshi's attempt to barter with a lottery ticket and beer coupon fails spectacularly, but when the pirates open fire, Chiaotzu freezes the bullets mid-air with telekinesis. Tien disarms the crew in a flash, and the terrified leader hands over the ball.
Meanwhile, Goku relentlessly follows Yajirobe, begging for his Dragon Ball. Yajirobe refuses, wanting to sell it for profit, and a wild chase erupts across rivers, mountains, and countryside. On Pilaf's airship, King Piccolo grows increasingly furious as Tambourine reports finding no one at the Dragon Ball's previous location. Mai's radar reveals the ball is moving rapidly, and Piccolo directs Tambourine to follow it.
In the most emotionally layered scene of the episode, Tien knocks on the door of a man whose leg he brutally broke during a past fighting match. The man suffered 13 broken bones and spent two years recovering. When police arrive to arrest Tien for the martial artist murders, Roshi defuses the situation. Tien drops to his knees and begs forgiveness, offering to let the man break his arms in return. Moved by the sincerity, the man forgives him and gives up his Dragon Ball. The episode closes as Tambourine blasts a farmer's cart to pieces and comes face to face with Yajirobe and then Goku, who screams that this rematch belongs to him.
Tien's encounter with the fighter he once crippled is the emotional heart of this episode. His willingness to prostrate himself and accept physical punishment shows how far he has come from the ruthless assassin trained by Master Shen. The man's ultimate forgiveness validates Tien's transformation.
Goku's long chase after Yajirobe provides comic relief and practical buildup as the moving Dragon Ball signal draws Tambourine closer. The final confrontation at the episode's end is charged with meaning: Goku, at full strength and burning with purpose, stands ready to avenge Krillin.
This episode runs two parallel stories of personal reckoning. Tien atones for the cruelty of his past while Goku prepares to face the demon who embodies his greatest loss. With Roshi's team now holding multiple Dragon Balls and Goku about to challenge Tambourine again, both threads are converging toward a climax.
