The Serpent's Invitation

Exhausted and hungry from his long trek along Snake Way, Goku spots a grand palace along the road and stops to investigate. Inside, he is greeted by Princess Snake, a beautiful woman with bluish skin and sharp features who presents herself as the ruler of this stretch of the path. She lavishes Goku with food and hospitality, trying every trick to convince him to stay permanently.

True Colors

Princess Snake is infatuated with strong warriors, having previously attempted to capture King Yemma himself centuries ago. When Goku politely declines her advances and prepares to leave, her demeanor shifts from charming to furious. She reveals her true form: the Goddess of Snake Way, a colossal gray serpent that strongly resembles the path itself. She swallows Goku whole and traps him in an illusion so he does not realize he is being digested by her stomach acid.

Escape by Wit

Goku breaks free of the illusion, realizes his danger, and attempts to reason with the giant snake as she chases him along the path. She refuses to compromise, breathing fire and lunging at him repeatedly. Goku ultimately tricks her into tying herself into a massive knot while he dodges her strikes. With Princess Snake temporarily immobilized, Goku resumes his journey toward King Kai, her protests echoing behind him as he runs.

Temptation and Deception

Princess Snake represents a different kind of danger than Goku usually faces. She does not open with violence; she opens with comfort, food, and flattery. For a warrior running on empty along an endless road, the temptation to rest is real. Goku's loyalty to his family and his mission keeps him from falling into the trap.

A Monster in Disguise

The reveal of Princess Snake's true serpent form adds a mythological quality to Goku's afterlife journey. The path he walks is literally shaped like a snake, and the creature who rules it embodies that form. Her power level of 900 makes her a genuine threat, not something Goku can simply punch through, forcing him to rely on agility and cleverness instead of raw power.

Obstacles Beyond Combat

This episode proves that Goku's journey along Snake Way is not just a test of endurance and speed. Deception, temptation, and creatures that cannot be defeated through fighting alone stand between him and King Kai. Each obstacle strips away another option, forcing Goku to grow as a thinker, not just as a fighter.
