Goku's Time Is Up

Final Lessons at the Lookout

With time running short, Goku drills Goten and Trunks on the Fusion Dance at the Lookout. The technique demands perfect symmetry between both performers, and the boys struggle initially under Goku's watchful eye. Piccolo reluctantly helps Goku demonstrate the movements, earning skeptical looks from everyone watching. After repeated practice, the boys improve considerably.

Elsewhere, Majin Buu revels in his freedom, terrorizing the countryside. He turns an entire village of people into clay using his Transfiguration Beam, then constructs a house for himself. In a strangely domestic sequence, Buu takes a bath, brushes his teeth, puts on pajamas, and sleeps for a few seconds before waking up excited about the promised fighter arriving the next day.

The Power of Super Saiyan 3

Back at the Lookout, Trunks grows impatient with the Fusion Dance and calls it lame. He asks Goku to show them the Super Saiyan 3 transformation instead. Goku agrees on the condition that both boys commit to mastering the fusion afterward. He ascends through Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 before unleashing the full power of Super Saiyan 3, shaking the entire Lookout with his energy.

The transformation drains what little time Goku has left on Earth. Fortuneteller Baba arrives to inform him that his 24 hours are up. Goku entrusts Piccolo with overseeing the boys' training going forward.

A Father's Farewell

Ox-King wakes Chi-Chi so she can see Goku off. Master Roshi, Bulma, and Krillin say their goodbyes, followed by an emotional moment where Goku embraces Chi-Chi and Goten. He reassures Chi-Chi that she still has Goten to look after and promises to find Gohan in the Other World.

Videl speaks up, insisting she can sense that Gohan is still alive. Goku departs with Baba, vanishing into the sky as his friends and family watch. Meanwhile, Gohan continues training with the Z Sword on the Sacred World of the Kai, and Majin Buu resumes his path of destruction across Earth.
