Vegeta broadcasts a telepathic plea to the people of Earth, asking them to raise their hands and donate energy for the Spirit Bomb. Goku begins gathering power, receiving massive contributions from their friends. But the ordinary citizens of Earth refuse to cooperate, leaving the Spirit Bomb dangerously underpowered.
Earth has been restored, and the recently revived heroes try to make sense of what happened. On the Lookout, old friends reunite while Piccolo, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks piece together the situation. Dabura, excluded from the revival due to his evil deeds, bids farewell from his place in the afterlife. Meanwhile, on the Sacred World of the Kai, Good Buu continues his losing fight against Kid Buu while the heroes finalize their plan.
King Kai establishes a telepathic link from Grand Kai's Planet, allowing Vegeta to address every person on Earth simultaneously. The Saiyan Prince explains that a warrior on a distant world is battling a monster that threatens all of existence, and he asks every person to raise their hands toward the sky and share their strength.
Goku sheds his tattered shirt, rises into the sky, and begins gathering energy for the Spirit Bomb. The first contributions pour in from their closest allies: Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, Trunks, and the other Z Fighters channel enormous amounts of energy, and the bomb swells rapidly. On New Namek, Old Kai and the others watch in amazement as the sphere grows.
But the energy from their friends alone is not enough. Vegeta returns to the telepathic link and begs Earth's ordinary citizens to contribute. The response is silence. People across the globe dismiss the voice as a trick, a prank, or the work of demons. Vegeta's rage boils over at their refusal.
Down in Hell, Frieza watches the unfolding disaster with amusement as Vegeta's frustration mounts. King Kai urges Vegeta to calm down and try a gentler approach, but the Prince's second attempt fares no better. The people of Earth simply do not care about a battle they cannot see.
On the Sacred World of the Kai, the clock is running out. Good Buu splits into multiple copies to stall Kid Buu but is losing ground fast. Piccolo dispatches Gohan and the others to fly across the globe and personally convince people, but even face-to-face pleas fall on skeptical ears. The Spirit Bomb sits incomplete, and Goku knows it is nowhere near powerful enough to destroy Kid Buu.
