Deadly Vision

EpisodeEp. 275

Goku and Vegeta tear down the pods containing their sons and Piccolo, causing Super Buu to revert to a weaker, less intelligent form. They discover the original fat Buu sealed away inside and learn the history of how two Buus once existed. A battle erupts within Buu's mind, but the villain proves impossible to destroy in his own domain.

Pulling the Threads

Goku and Vegeta rip the pods free one by one. Each removal sends a visible change through Super Buu's body on the outside. His power drops, his features shift, and his intelligence dulls. By the time the last pod comes loose, the version of Buu that terrorized the planet has been stripped back to a far weaker state. Dende and Mr. Satan watch in confusion as the previously all-powerful villain stumbles around aimlessly.

Vegeta wants to blast their way out immediately, but Goku hesitates. Even in this diminished form, Super Buu is still dangerous. Goku proposes the Fusion Dance as a potential strategy, but Vegeta shuts the idea down before Goku can finish the sentence. The Saiyan prince has already fused once and refuses to do it again under any circumstances.

The Two Buus

While exploring the interior, Goku and Vegeta discover a pod unlike the others. Inside it sits the original fat Majin Buu, the innocent version who befriended Mr. Satan. By examining Buu's memories, they piece together the history of how one Buu became two: the evil within manifested as a separate entity, fought the good half, and ultimately absorbed him to become Super Buu.

This discovery gives Vegeta an idea, though before he can act on it, Super Buu's mental avatar appears inside his own head to confront the intruders. Dende and Mr. Satan cannot figure out why Buu has gone completely still on the outside, standing frozen as a silent war rages within his consciousness.

Fighting a Mind

The confrontation inside Buu's head proves frustrating. Every time Goku and Vegeta blast the mental avatar of Super Buu, he simply reforms elsewhere, completely unharmed. They combine their attacks into a massive joint energy sphere that appears to obliterate him, but even that victory is temporary. Within his own body, Buu is essentially invincible.

Super Buu finishes toying with his guests and prepares to absorb them for real. Goku blasts a hole in Buu's head trying to escape, but the tissue regenerates too quickly. Vegeta is knocked unconscious, and pink tendrils begin creeping over his body. Episode 275 pushes the Saiyans to their absolute limit inside a battlefield where the rules are entirely stacked against them.
