The Trap and the Destroyer

Goku, Beerus, Whis, and Shin return to Universe 10, staging a casual visit to test Zamasu. They claim Goku simply wants a rematch, giving Zamasu no reason to suspect surveillance. After a brief exchange, they depart but stop just outside Universe 10, where Whis projects a live view of Zamasu and Gowasu. The group settles in to watch, waiting for Zamasu to reveal his true intentions.

In the alternate future, Goku Black and Future Zamasu discuss strategy at their hideout. Future Zamasu advises Goku Black to fight Goku slowly so he can continue adapting to his stolen body's fighting instincts. Meanwhile, on Earth, young Trunks confronts his moping future counterpart, calling him a coward and challenging him to a fight as a Super Saiyan. When Future Trunks refuses to engage, Trunks punches him in the face, demanding he stand up and fight like a Saiyan.

Back in Universe 10, the trap pays off. As Gowasu enjoys the snacks Whis gifted him, Zamasu prepares his energy blade behind his master's back. He strikes, killing Gowasu. Whis immediately activates his Temporal Do-Over, rewinding time to just before the murder. The group returns, and Whis immobilizes Zamasu's hand with an energy glove just as he is about to strike again. Confronted with undeniable proof, Zamasu attempts to attack but is effortlessly caught by Beerus. With a single word, "Hakai," Beerus disintegrates Zamasu entirely, erasing him from existence.

Justice Through Destruction

Beerus's destruction of Zamasu is one of the most definitive displays of a God of Destruction's authority in the series. There is no negotiation, no second chance, just absolute erasure. The scene highlights the difference between Beerus and Goku: where Goku might have sought to fight or reason, Beerus acts with the cold finality his role demands. The Temporal Do-Over serves as both plot device and thematic statement, proving that the gods have tools mortals lack but also that even divine intervention has limits when dealing with alternate timelines.

A False Sense of Victory

Beerus insists that destroying the present Zamasu should resolve the future timeline as well, arguing that a god destroying a god carries different weight than mortal actions across timelines. Future Trunks is openly skeptical, pointing out that his own timeline's Androids never disappeared when their present counterparts were defeated. This disagreement sets up the next episode's critical question: did Beerus actually save the future, or did he merely eliminate one version of Zamasu while the alternate timeline remains unchanged?
