Trapped in Forever

EpisodeEp. 259

Gotenks deploys an army of Super Ghost Kamikaze copies against Super Buu inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The ghosts detonate across Buu's body and reduce him to scattered pieces, but the monster regenerates from nothing. Piccolo makes the desperate decision to destroy the Chamber's only exit, trapping everyone inside the void forever.

An Army of Ghosts

The first ghost charges Super Buu, who swats it away instinctively. The ghost simply smirks and detonates, blasting a massive hole through Buu's body. Gotenks explains the mechanics: each ghost is essentially a living grenade that explodes on contact with anything. He produces ten more copies and lines them up for a coordinated assault.

The ghosts prove difficult to control, bickering among themselves and accidentally destroying two of their own number. After Gotenks gets them organized with a huddle and a plan, the remaining ghosts swarm Super Buu and detonate simultaneously, engulfing him in a colossal explosion.

Regeneration Beyond Reason

On the Sacred World of the Kai, Old Kai informs Goku that the battle is taking place inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, which explains why neither Buu's nor Gotenks' energy can be sensed. At the Lookout, Bulma prepares food for the boys while Krillin expresses faith that the sons of Goku and Vegeta can pull off a miracle.

Inside the Chamber, the smoke clears to reveal bits of Super Buu scattered everywhere. Piccolo and Gotenks carefully incinerate every fragment to prevent regeneration. But a sudden wind sweeps through, and the pieces pull themselves back together. Super Buu stands before them fully restored, as though nothing happened.

No Way Out

Piccolo's heart sinks. He asks if Gotenks can perform the ghost attack again, and Gotenks dramatically pretends he is out of energy. Super Buu seizes the opportunity to grab and fling the fused warrior around. Just as Gotenks prepares to counterattack, an explosion erupts from behind. Piccolo has blasted the Chamber's only doorway to pieces.

Super Buu recoils in shock and rage at being sealed inside an infinite white void with no food and no escape. Piccolo tells him coldly that he can destroy them both, but he will spend eternity utterly alone. Meanwhile, a dehydrated Mr. Satan wanders the desert with Bee, reminiscing fondly about his lost friend, Good Buu.
