EpisodeEp. 264

After being thoroughly outmatched by Ultimate Gohan, Super Buu detonates himself to escape certain defeat. The survivors regroup and locate Dende and Mr. Satan among the wreckage. Desperation Disguised as Destruction

The battle between Ultimate Gohan and Super Buu continues, and every exchange makes one thing clear: Buu is losing badly. His punches miss, his techniques fail, and Gohan's superior speed keeps him perpetually on the defensive. Cornered, Buu reveals that he sensed Gohan's power growing from a distant location ever since his fight with Gotenks.

Refusing to accept a world where someone is stronger than him, Super Buu channels all his energy into a massive self-destruction. Gohan reacts just in time, shielding Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks from the blast. The explosion devastates the landscape, but Gohan assures the others that Buu has not truly died. Instead, the creature has suppressed his energy signature and slipped away into hiding.

Picking Up the Pieces

With the immediate threat gone, Gohan turns his attention to recovery. He senses that Dende is still alive somewhere on Earth, a critical detail since the Dragon Balls depend on the young Namekian's survival. The group sets out to find him, stumbling upon Mr. Satan and his dog Bee along the way.

Mr. Satan is devastated to learn that his daughter Videl was killed by Super Buu. He lashes out at Gohan for failing to protect her, unable to accept that Gohan was not present during the massacre at Kami's Lookout. Goten tries to comfort him by mentioning the Dragon Balls, but Mr. Satan has no idea what they are and assumes the boy is mocking him. Eventually, they locate Dende, who explains how Mr. Popo threw him off the Lookout to preserve the Dragon Balls' power.

The Monster's Return

The reunion barely has time to settle before Super Buu reappears, exactly one hour after his disappearance. Mr. Satan confronts his former friend, furious that Buu broke his promise not to kill anyone. But Buu is uninterested in apologies. He issues a puzzling demand: a rematch against Gotenks.

The request seems odd given how badly Gohan just dominated him, but Buu's true intentions reveal themselves in subtle detail. The skin on his back begins to shift and move on its own. Whatever plan he has been formulating during his hour in hiding, episode 264 makes clear that the worst is far from over.
