Patience Destroyed

Chi-Chi marches up to Super Buu and slaps him across the face, berating him for what she believes was the murder of her eldest son, Gohan. Super Buu responds without hesitation, transforming her into an egg and crushing it under his foot. Goten breaks down in tears, but Piccolo reassures him that Chi-Chi can be revived with the Dragon Balls once Buu is defeated. Trunks comforts his friend, reminding him that they have both lost someone now.

Super Buu's impatience boils over. He smashes the hourglass and demands that Piccolo take him to the challenger immediately.

The Long Way Around

Piccolo agrees to lead Super Buu to Gotenks but deliberately takes the longest possible path through the Lookout. Dende notices the detour and understands the strategy. Piccolo reaches out to Goten and Trunks telepathically, warning them that he and Buu will arrive in one minute of real time, which translates to roughly six hours inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

The boys use every remaining second to train. Goten complains about being thirsty, but Piccolo urges them to rest briefly and prepare themselves mentally. The door finally opens, and Super Buu steps inside the white void of the Chamber.

The Fusion Begins

Goten and Trunks stand ready, side by side, prepared to perform the Fusion Dance. Before they can complete it, Super Buu sucker-punches Trunks, sending him sprawling. Trunks picks himself up defiantly and tells Buu that the fight starts when they say so.

The boys perform the dance flawlessly, and Gotenks emerges in a flash of light. Super Buu recognizes the fused warrior from their previous encounter. Gotenks throws a quick flurry of punches at Buu's face, but the blows fail to leave a mark. The real battle inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is only getting started.
