A Dragon Reborn

At the Lookout, Mr. Popo produces a stone model of Shenron that had been shattered and carefully reassembles it with glue. Kami explains that he had originally intended to leave Shenron destroyed. He created the Dragon Balls to inspire hope, but greedy individuals always exploited them. Goku's selfless wish to revive his friends restored Kami's faith in humanity. Once the figure is repaired, Kami charges it with a beam of energy. The stone dragon pulses with life, then vanishes in a column of light that shoots toward the Earth below, returning to the Dragon Balls and restoring them instantly.

The Wish That Healed the World

At Kame House, Yamcha is stunned when the inert stone in his hand transforms back into a Dragon Ball. Bulma gathers all seven and deploys the cryopods holding the bodies of Krillin, Master Roshi, and Chiaotzu. Shenron rises dramatically and confirms that Goku asked Kami to revive him. When Bulma starts to wish for just their three friends, Yamcha expands the request: bring back everyone killed by King Piccolo and his minions. Shenron grants it, and beams of energy shoot around the globe. Krillin, Roshi, and Chiaotzu rise from their cryopods, alive and well. Across the world, warriors and civilians alike are restored, some digging their way out of their graves in bewildered confusion.

Three Years and a Promise

Shenron reveals that Goku will remain at the Lookout for training and will return at the next World Martial Arts Tournament in three years. Kami warns Goku that Piccolo Jr. is alive and will certainly appear at that tournament seeking revenge. The fighters at Kame House, led by Tien, Yamcha, and the newly revived Krillin, resolve to train intensely to close the gap between themselves and Goku.

Piccolo in the Wild

Meanwhile, the newborn Piccolo Jr. is growing rapidly. He sinks a fisherman's boat and hunts for food with energy blasts, already displaying the ruthlessness inherited from his father. The young Namekian is somewhere out in the world, growing stronger by the day.

A Turning Point

The resurrection of Shenron and the mass revival of Piccolo's victims close the book on the King Piccolo Saga's losses. Kami's internal conflict about the Dragon Balls adds depth to his character. The three-year training window sets the timeline for the Piccolo Jr. Saga, and the fighters' renewed determination marks the beginning of an arms race that will define the tournament to come.
