Retreat and Regroup

Fueled by his new Super Saiyan Rage transformation, Future Trunks fights Goku Black and Future Zamasu simultaneously, matching their combined strength long enough to create an opening. He orders Vegeta to take Goku and Bulma back to the present in the Time Machine, volunteering to hold the line alone. Vegeta reluctantly agrees, recognizing it as their only option, and entrusts Future Mai with the remaining Senzu Beans.

Back in the present, Bulma confronts Beerus for being wrong about the future being fixed. The God of Destruction dismisses the situation, saying he fulfilled his role by destroying the present Zamasu and has no obligation to interfere with another timeline's problems. As Vegeta broods over a strategy, the rest of the cast gathers at Capsule Corporation. Piccolo arrives and suggests a solution that does not rely on overwhelming force: the Evil Containment Wave, a sealing technique that Master Roshi once used against King Piccolo.

The idea is simple but elegant. If Future Zamasu cannot be killed due to his immortality, he can be sealed in a container permanently. Goku immediately teleports to Kame House, where Master Roshi agrees to teach him the technique. After several comically failed attempts at sealing Turtle, Goku masters the move. Roshi prepares a special talisman to complete the seal and an urn to serve as the container. Meanwhile, Vegeta enters the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for half a day of real time, which equals six months of training, determined to overpower Goku Black through sheer force.

The Old Techniques

Piccolo's suggestion of the Evil Containment Wave is a brilliant callback to the original Dragon Ball series, where it was Master Roshi's desperate last resort against King Piccolo. The technique's return acknowledges that not every problem can be solved by hitting harder. Immortality nullifies damage, but sealing bypasses the concept of damage entirely. The scene also highlights the generational knowledge within the cast. Piccolo remembers the technique from his progenitor's perspective, and the Pilaf Gang recalls witnessing it firsthand, connecting the original series to the current conflict in a satisfying way.

Dual Preparation

The heroes adopt a two-pronged approach: Goku learns the Evil Containment Wave to neutralize Future Zamasu's immortality, while Vegeta trains to surpass Goku Black in raw power. This division reflects their personalities perfectly. Goku embraces a creative technique that requires precision, while Vegeta trusts his Saiyan drive to push past his limits through grueling training. Beerus and Whis also visit Gowasu in Universe 10, with Gowasu accepting responsibility for choosing Zamasu as his apprentice. The episode balances humor, strategy, and emotional weight as it sets the stage for the saga's final confrontation.
